Multiverse Oscar Fits - Everything Everywhere All at Once
At the 2023 Oscars award show, the film Everything Everywhere All at Once, makes a stunning entrance followed by receiving a grand total of seven Oscars for the motion picture. This multiverse film is centered around a Chinese-American immigrant named Evelyn Wang, played by Michelle Yeoh, who is handed the responsibility of the fate of the world during which she connects with parallel universe versions of herself. Yeoh became the first Asian woman to win best actress, and the first non-White star to win best actress in 20 years. Ke Huy Quan was awarded best supporting actor as well as Jamie Lee Curtis for best supporting actress. Not only did the stars of the film take home the most Oscars for an immigrant picture since The Godfather, but they also rocked the red carpet with beautiful outfits from designers such as Dior, Dolce and Gabbana, Valentino, and more.
Michelle Yeoh arrived in a sparkly white Dior a-line gown that perfectly reflected her angelic presence. Yeoh was dressed head-to-toe in Moussaieff diamonds to accompany the sheer neckline and tulle train.
Stephanie Hsu, who played Yeoh’s daughter in the film, wore a beautiful pink gown by Valentino. The designer’s vision for the show-stopping couture dress was “Old Hollywood Meets New Hollywood/Reimagining the Hollywood Starlet.” The neon pink taffeta bustier dress gave Hsu radiant confidence as she stepped onto the red carpet.
Ke Huy Quan bounces back into the acting scene and sports a classic Giorgio Armani tuxedo featuring a black grosgrain shawl-collar lapel. Quan wore Armani at his first Oscar appearance and couldn’t help but continue with the timeless look. His tuxedo is paired with a white tuxedo shirt and classic black bowtie, with patient leather shoes, all by Armani.
None other than the iconic Jamie Lee Curtis bejeweled the red carpet with a dazzling Dolce and Gabbana long sleeve corset gown. Coated in clear, white, and silver crystals, this stunning couture piece from D&G features a slim-fitting bodice and clean-cut draped skirt all over light nude fabric. Curtis’s fit was paired with a glistening diamond cocktail ring and triangular diamond post earrings.
James Hong amazed the crowd with his bowtie alluding to the film. Hong stole the show with the googly-eyed bowtie referencing the character played by Ke Huy Quan, that is until the main character adopts the googly eye as a third eye in quest of enlightenment. Hong made everyone laugh with his poses and charming style in honor of the acclaimed film.
The cast of Everything Everywhere All at Once made history at the 2023 Oscars. From Michelle Yeoh being the first Asian woman to win Best Actress to the long-time legend James Hong, the cast blew away the crowd with meaningful speeches. Their authentic performance and direction in the motion picture were truly reflected in their fashionably fabulous gowns and tuxedos on the red carpet.
